Slackin' on my bloggin'!

Who would have thought that being on vacation would keep me from blogging? I've just been so engrossed in C and T and our new puppy that I've forgotten about the blogs... and I'm glad!

Since the last post I've been enjoying every second with my T.... he's such an amazing kid and I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm his mom. If I scold him for something he says "Hi Mommy!" and gives me a big smile... it makes me laugh every time.

Our puppy fits perfectly into our family... gets along with everyone, even the cat! He has been so easy to train and just have around I can't believe it! What's best is that he LOVES C and C loves him.... this is coming from a guy who has never had a dog or been around dogs.

I'm now trying to get caught up on laundry and packed up for Florida. I'll be coming back with my niece and ready for some more fun :)

SO HAPPY

I'm happy for SO many reasons but mostly because of the following:

* School is over in two days

* I found out my sister and her fam in Texas are coming for Mom's 60th birthday party! She'll get to see T for the first time!

* We're getting our puppy tomorrow MORNING... it's going to be SO hard going to work after that!

I am so blessed in so many ways :) Life is good. Thanks be to God!

SPEED UP!/Slow down!

I'm in this conundrum... I want time to speed up so this week can be over and I can be on vacation but I also want it to slow down because I know that once this week is over, summer is going to go by in a flash! Here are my plans for this summer so far:

1. This thursday we're getting Deuce! Our puppy is coming before being 8 weeks! I'm so excited and at the same time sad that I'll be leaving Deuce for a few days for #2.

2. Friday the 26th... going to Florida for my mom's surprise party for her 60th birthday. T and I will be there until the 30th without C. We'll miss him!

3. Bringing back my niece N from Florida with us and she'll be around until July 12th! We're going to have SO much fun!

4. July 13-16 writing curriculum for the county.

5. Throughout this time (maybe not while in Florida), I'll start "training" for my 5k run in October. I'm meeting up with a friend on Tuesdays and Thursdays to go walking around the neighborhood.

6. Clean out the closets in the house and get rid of T's stuff that he has outgrown on the days he's at daycare.

7. Try to go on a little staycation with the fam.... any ideas where to go!?

Artistic

I don't know why but when my parents moved to Florida, I stopped sculpting and drawing. In any case, it's back and with a vengeance! This weekend I bought three little white piggy banks at Joann Fabrics and pernament markers to decorate them. I decorated Toby's with an "Under the Sea" theme to go with his room... turned out cute if I do say so myself! My pig is a work in progress... I had the bright idea of making mine a mosaic of random brightly colored squares and it's going to take me FOREVER! Chris wants his to have mod circles in blue/tan/brown. If I ever finish mine, I'll start his! I'll take pictures when all three pigs are done ;)

Sculpting fun

It had been a while since I had sculpted anything... I felt the need to today. My friend W was looking on Etsy and found really cute elephants that she wanted as her cake toppers... well, I couldn't make the elephants for the cakes because I can't sculpt anything that's bigger than an inch... I specialize in miniatures.... so I made her these just for fun:

They're too small for anything but I had a fun time sculpting again. I tell you, I have too many hobbies.

I'm a prisoner and I don't care

I've come to realize that T has me wrapped around his little finger.  He has learned to look at me with those big hazel eyes and say "please" or "thank you, Mommy" and I just melt.  This weekend he was tired so I put him down for a nap and he wasn't having it-- he was crying hysterically and then started calling for me "Mommy!  Mommy!  Where's Mommy!?" and I couldn't hear that and not go and see him.  He gives me hugs and kisses and randomly says "Hi Mommy" and that's just the best. I often worry that I'm spoiling him ith too much attention but... what else is a parent to do!?  

I'm so grateful for my little boy and these moments.  So what if he's spoiled?  I love him.
